***Awesome holiday gift alert and giveaway!!!***
I learned about the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? a few years back and the Bucket Fillers company has become one of my absolute favorites for their beautiful books about kindness for kids.
Books About Kindness for Kids
Have You Filled a Bucket Today? teaches kids how their actions affect others.
The book explains how everyone, yes everyone, young and old, carry around an invisible bucket filled with feelings about themselves.
When you do something kind or thoughtful, you fill someone’s bucket and make them feel good. You also fill your own bucket at the same time.
When you are mean or unkind, you become a bucket dipper, taking out some good feelings from someone’s bucket and make them feel sad.
It explains how sometimes kids try to dip in someone else’s bucket to fill their own, but this never works. Bucket dipping also dips from your own bucket.
In this easy to understand analogy, these books about kindness for kids are taught the value of bucket filling in their homes, schools, communities and neighborhoods. The end goal of these books about kindness for kids are to create caring, responsible, motivated individuals focused on doing good.
Can I get an “AMEN!!!”?
Who doesn’t want to raise a kind, caring, responsible, motivated little human? Right?!
New Bucket Filler Books and Activities
I am thrilled to share some new Bucket Filler Books and Activities for you to enjoy with your kiddos.
Bucket Filling from A to Z is their new book which is a fun read, especially for littles learning their letters. The book uses the alphabet to show ways kids can be bucket fillers, yes, from A to Z.
For example, I stands for “Invite someone new to play with you!”
T is for “Tell your family you love them!”
I love this new book because it points out 26 different ways kids can be kind, helpful and respectful.
To accompany this new book, there is also a Bucket Filling from A to Z Coloring Book and Poster Set.
I love the Poster Set, which includes the letters and examples, on different sheets. It’s perfect for having your kids pick a letter of the day, and displaying on the fridge or somewhere else, to remind kids not only of the letter, but of a way they can be kind that day.
Hooray! It’s a Bucket Filling Giveaway!
One lucky winner will win this entire set of Bucket Filling books plus the Bucket Filling from A to Z Coloring Book!
Good luck!!!
These books sound awesome! I’ve been teaching my kids to include other kids, so no one feels left out, and to use encouraging words.
We have been learning about bucket filling and dipping with my son’s TK class. The concept is wonderful and we use it in our daily language now.
This is so wonderful
Nice giveaway! The Have You Filled A Bucket Today? book has been on my list of books to get for my son.
I enforce that we treat others the way we would want to be treated.
We actually read Have You Filled A Bucket Today 🙂 It was given to us as a gift and we would love having the others too!
we remind them to say kind things to and about others and to treat others how they, themselves, would like to be treated.
I remind them to think of how they would feel if they were in the other persons shoes
I absolutely adore the 1st book! I love that there are other books to check out. Bucket filling is such a wonderful concept for children (and adults). My boys and I discuss different ways they filled other people’s buckets and ways that they got their own buckets filled. 🙂
