Well there is no doubt the shopping season is in full swing and nothing makes me happier than sharing with you a gift idea that is all about giving hope to women across the world this holiday season.
31bits.com is an organization that sells jewelry handmade by women displaced by war in Northern Uganda. Each piece is bought directly from these women and is made out of 100% recycled paper, newspaper and magazines. 31 Bits is centered around the creative art and entrepreneurship present in all women. By creating an international marketplace for their creations, the proceeds assist these women with education, nutrition and healthcare for their families.
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation Holiday Cards
Every year when I see these cards, it really touches my heart because I know the proceeds go to such a great cause.
The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation recently announced the launch of its 2009 holiday card program featuring nearly 60 unique card designs created by young oncology patients. The colorful holiday cards, which directly benefit pediatric cancer research, are now available for purchase on the PCRF website (click on “2009 Holiday Cards”) and will also be available in many major supermarkets in Southern California starting in November.

Pumpkins & Pancakes
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and this special non-profit trains volunteers to be mentors and advocates for OC’s most severely abused and neglected children placed in foster care. This amazing organization is holding a special event to raise money on Sunday, 10/25. My family went last year and we had so much fun! It is a wonderful family event!
