Now that we have flipped the calendar and all eyes are on turkeys this month, I wanted to share with you some fun holiday festivities going on at Zoomars Petting Zoo in San Juan Capistrano. Starting today through Thanksgiving Weekend, Zoomars turkey-rific Gooble Wobble Days are in full swing with even more fun holiday happenings in December. I am also very excited to share this Zoomars Plum District deal this week which is only $22 for 4 admissions, 2 train rides and 2 turkey crafts. Gooble gobble goodie!
First off, if you have not taken your children to Zoomars, it is a must visit OC family activity! Open daily (except Thanksgiving + Christmas) this quaint family- friendly zoo is a special place where kids can get up close and personal with with the animals in their petting zoo, take a spin on a precious pony, bump elbows with bunnies and guinea pigs while actually getting to feed them in their feeding pen, hop aboard for a ride on their mini train and burn off some energy at their playground.
Best part is it also so affordable too! A few years ago I did a post about a train ride we did to Zoomars from the Santa Ana station – Zoomars is walking distance from the San Juan Capistrano Amtrak stop. So much fun!
In addition to all the fun that happens year round at Zoomars this month features their Gooble Wobble Days where you will find seasonal additions sure to delight your kiddos.
The Gobble Wobble days will feature a giant CORN BOX (yes, like a sand box with corn kernels, I am told even the adults find it quite therapeutic!), harvest table for snacking with the turkeys, various turkey crafts with the Craft Contessa, and a Hay Maze and Pyramid for little ones to climb and navigate.
December 3rd, 2011: Free Admission from 6 – 9pm
To kick off the holiday season and celebrate San Juan Capistrano’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Zoomars will be opening their charming zoo for a special evening event from 6 – 9pm for the public to enjoy for FREE.
On this evening at Zoomars you will be able to view a Live Nativity Show at 6:30 & 7pm and also go on a Holiday Hayride through the Historic Los Rios District.
Such a great way to start December in the most festive of holiday spirits.
December 11th, 2011: Reindeer Romp
Visit Zoomars for a Reindeer Romp and see REAL reindeers from 12 – 3pm and other special holiday attractions like fun and easy holiday crafts with their resident Craft Contessa.
December 17th, 2011: Breakfast with Santa
Ho! Ho! Ho! Keep an eye out for an upcoming Groupon with a special deal (limited to 150 tickets) just in time for the Breakfast with Santa event at Zoomars from 9am – 12pm where kids can meet the jolly ‘ole soul himself for a special breakfast.
Catered by Linda Kirby Events (949) 496-4851, the yummy breakfast menu will feature a “Grilled Pancake Bar” with assorted toppings. Linda will also be including fresh fruit, cinnamon roll muffins, and turkey sausage but she had me at the grilled pancake bar.
Also, please visit Zoomars website for more information on birthday parties and school field trips. You can even book your party online! My family went to a birthday party at Zoomars this year and the kids absolutely loved it! A very unique oc kids birthday party venue.
