Great Parenting.com Article: Preschool Confidential

I read a great article on Parenting.com recently called Preschool Confidential: What Teachers Want You to Know.

It’s written by a preschool teacher.

Some parts made me laugh out loud and the last point made me a little misty, so I wanted to share it with you.

You might not agree with every opinion, but there are a lot of great points she made that would not have occurred to me.  Like how I am now regretting giving my daughter’s kindergarten teacher a scented candle for her birthday this year…:)

Any other teachers out there reading this? Would love your opinion on the article. Do you agree? Anything else we should know?

  1. these two are hilarious:

If you give me baked goods, please don’t tell me that your child helped make them. I bake with your children, too, and I know the secret ingredients that go into their recipes.

    and

A Nutella sandwich, chocolate milk, and cookies is not a lunch. It is a small dessert buffet.

    thnx for the read!

  2. That’s a great article. I’m going to have to work on the workout clothes thing…I would have never thought that bothered a teacher!

  3. As a first grade teacher I agree with a lot of it. Workout clothes do not bother me…pajamas do. 🙂

  4. I thought the same thing about the workout clothes – but I think the point was more about being late vs. the workout clothes. Like if you are on time, it wouldn’t matter!
