One of my favorite childhood memories was of one Sunday morning years ago when I was probably 10 or 11. With no warning, my parents surprised us and told us we were going to Disneyland that day. It was one of the best days ever.
So when my family was invited to experience Halloween Time at Disneyland for a special family media day last weekend, because of this fond memory, we thought it would be fun to surprise our girls.

I love fall in Orange County. I love fall period.
My birthday is in the fall, my anniversary is in the fall, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, I just love everything about this season.
When we walked into Main Street U.S.A last Saturday, with the slightly cooler temperatures and fall decor, I was transported to my happy place.
Thousands of pumpkins and beautiful fall decor everywhere – fall had arrived and this festive fall event is one not to be missed!
One of our favorite stops was the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree. The entire area is decked out in all kinds of incredible decor and a petting zoo is open for the kids. Really amazing photo opp locations…
Next to the petting zoo, the Jamboree was in full swing!
With a backdrop of music by Billy Hill and the “Haunted” Hillbillies, we could walk around and check out all the carnival style games and craft stations. But one of our absolute favorites was the pumpkin carvers! Check out their Yoda and other creations…
This time of year at Disneyland, favorite rides like the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain are transformed into frightfully fun experiences.
Emma begged to go on Space Mountain, the girl is fearless when it comes to fast rides, and she loved it so much she wanted to go twice. So both my husband and I had a turn to go on with her. I have to say, it is a SPOOKY transformation. So much fun!
And the Disney Villains were out and about ~ here we are with Cruella De Vil. Do you love her expression? My little one didn’t quite know what to make of her.
The park was busy, but not crazy busy, and we utilized the FASTPASS for many of the rides, which truly is an amazing feature.
If you haven’t taken advantage of the FASTPASS, I highly recommend it. When you put in your park ticket, you will receive a time to get back to enjoy some of the more popular rides, without the long wait. Click here for the list of participating attractions.
After a good part of the day at Disneyland, we walked over to Disney California Adventure to check out the action. It was our first time riding Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Both my girls are huge Ariel fans, so they were in awe. Such a darling new ride!
They also love all the attractions over at Paradise Pier. My little one had us go on the Symphony Swings three times in a row!
A personal highlight for me was experiencing Soarin’ Over California for the very first time, thanks to the FASTPASS. Once again, Disney magic at its finest.

Thanks Disneyland for all the memories!
xoxo
