Oh My Gosh, We WON!!!

I am REALLY excited to share that thanks to you, my fabulous, amazing, supportive, wonderful Tiny Oranges readers, our blog was voted the Best Kid & Family Friendly site in the Just Spotted’s blog awards!!!!!!

I got the news on Wednesday night at the Blog Awards Party at the amazingly cool party venue Wowsville in Laguna Hills.  Coleen and Kelly, the Just Spotted gals, went all out…orange carpet and all!   And, my absolute favorite, Dippin Dots were there to provide a yummy treat (LOVE the chocolate mint!)

I officially launched my blog on August 18th, 2008, so Tiny Oranges turned one year old this week.   I can’t think of a better birthday present than this award!

Wednesday (party day) was a pretty hard day with my little one.  I switched her reflux medication, stopped one and started another, and stopping the one cold turkey had a horrible impact on her.  Poor baby was miserable.  She cried and cried for about 8 hours straight.  She couldn’t go to sleep so I found myself driving to South Coast Plaza in the afternoon hoping the car would put her down (no such luck) and armed with a Starbuck’s in hand, I did 3 laps around the entire mall willing her to sleep.  I was exhausted and at the end of my rope.

Getting out to go to the party that night was just what the doctor ordered for me (and my mental health!) Then to find out Tiny Oranges won made my entire day, week and  month! 🙂

So, thank you, so much for your votes and for reading my blog.  I especially thank you for your support.  I got so many great responses from Wednesday’s post on our battle with reflux.  It warms my heart to know there are so many moms out there that care and want to help.  From one mom to another  – thank you!
