I went to the Pure Blu Spa at the Newport Beach Marriott on Friday for a spa day (and a $50 massage thanks to the Spa Week special) and it was simply pure heaven. This is a spa where you don’t just want to get your treatment and leave, it is a spa where you want to go and make a whole DAY out of it. Which is what I did, and I left feeling like a new person. I met two of my mommy girlfriends there and we enjoyed serious girl time just talking, laughing and relaxing.
For those of you who live in Orange County, this spa is a PERFECT day spa escape. For those out of the area, this would be a great weekend destination to get away with your hubby. Newly remodeled just 3 years ago, the property is beautiful, and in a great Newport Beach location in the Fashion Island loop. It is easy to get to, and you can valet park complimentary when using the spa. Before you start your spa day, you can get a nice little workout in at the fitness center adjacent to the pool. This spa has great amenities…a salt water jacuzzi, eucalyptus steam room, sauna and a cobalt blue tile cold water foot bath. I have never seen that before, it was amazing. When you are not in the spa area, you can relax out by the private saltwater dipping pool, surrounded by comfy, plush lounge chairs and a line of white cabanas. There is pool side service so you can order food and beverages, and the prices were not outrageous. I had a super yummy sandwich for $10. One of the highlights was meeting one of my Tiny Oranges readers by accident in the relaxation lounge before my service. She said she had read about the spa week special on my blog. It made me so happy! My massage was unbelievable. One of those that was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. After my amazing massage it was so nice to take a long shower and spend time at the vanity doing putting on some make-up and blow drying my hair in a relaxed (not frantic) sort of way. I came home to my family feeling so happy and refreshed. It was a pretty close version of what I would consider a perfect day!
