Spring Fashion for Kids

With Easter right around the corner, I thought it’d be fun to highlight a few of my favorite spring dresses for girls. The wonderful thing about there being so many beautiful options out there for girls is that you can really capture your little one’s personality. I know my daughter would love the butterfly dress from H&M  because she loves graphics and lots of color. Extra bonus … that adorable dress is only $9.95.

Here are the details on the rest of the dresses shown above.

Let’s Hear it for the Boy

But, we all know that girls are the easy ones! Finding cute, wearable clothes for our little guys is much more challenging. And, because I have one girl and one boy, I couldn’t do the easy part without also featuring some equally adorable picks for all the darling boys out there.

from left to right: Striped sweater vest from Tea Collection, Star shorts from H&M, Colorblock stripe tee from J.Crew, Linen white roll up pant from Old Navy, Rock N Roll long-sleeve t-shirt from City Threads, Striped yellow polo shirt from Zara, Chino style bermudas from Zara

My son is 6 and I can’t tell you how quickly he goes through his clothes (especially jeans/pants)! That’s why I’m always on the hunt for cute, unique pieces that don’t break the bank.

Do you have any favorite local or online shops you frequent to stock up on kid’s clothes? I’d love to hear about them!

  1. We just bought my daughter’s Easter dress at H&M – the cutest styles & soooooo affordable! Love! Great finds, thanks for this cute post.

  2. Hi Aimee,

Can you share tips on buying clothes for new born? My due date is this May, and we kept the baby gender as a surprise.

What are other tips when buying baby clothes other than gender neutral colour?

    Much appreciated,

    xo

  3. We buy our girls clothes all over. I had forgotten about H & M until I went recently. I got my 7 yr.old a darling red dress for $4.95! Sure it probably won’t last to hand down to her sister, but who cares? They really had some great deals and merchandise to help to supplement a new wardrobe. Since my 7yr. old had a huge growth spurt we now need new everything for Spring and Summer….

  4. I have two girls and totally have to blog about the $4.95 tank sundresses from H & M! I have bought several each year and they totally hold up. They will shrink over washings, but they hold their quality and you might be able to hand those down! Love those dresses!

  5. Hi Fana – How exciting! It’s true what everyone says, having a newborn is exhausting, but it is also such a precious and memorable time. I’m a little envious!

We didn’t find out the sex of our first born either and I thought it was so much fun to be surprised in the delivery room. I actually think having neutrals and white for babies is classic, so I didn’t mind at all. As for styles, I would say go with things that are easy and cozy. We did a lot of wrap tops, Gerber has great ones and we’d pair them with footed pants (Kushies has a good variety of unisex pants and can be found on amazon) Of course, they end up with the wrap top and diapers around the house, which is totally fine too. I was also a big fan of the sleep gown, they’re so easy to pull over them and my little ones always seemed very happy and comforable in those. They’re also great for changing diapes in the night without having to do too many different steps. Carters and Tadpoles offer great options. Shoes for babies are so cute – but they’re really not that practical. I think little booties are a better option, check out naturebaby.com. I also like the American Apparel baby line since they have great basics. I hope I answered your question and thanks for reading. Enjoy the time with your new baby!!
