Wordless Wednesday: Puzzle

This summer has been busy. Fun busy, but busy.

Yesterday morning after dropping Emma off at Cheer Camp, I already had a gazillion errands in mind to run with Morgan. Return to the Container Store, Target run, maybe an H & M shoe exchange, you know, just the general running around nuttiness.

I had to stop back at home for the Container Store bag which I forgot, and figured I should probably brush away my coffee breath while I was at it, so we went back in the house for few moments.

I was brushing my teeth when this little one walks in with her big eyes and bed head bob haircut and says, “Mommy, will you do the alphabet puzzle with me?”

“Yes.”

We hung out on the floor doing puzzles for the first time in awhile. Just the two of us. I made it to the Container Store, just not at that moment. Her reminder to me to s l o w d o w n was a gift.

Does anyone else get caught up in all the things you “have to do??”

If yes, may I recommend taking 20 – 30 minutes to do a puzzle with your little ones today? Surprisingly therapeutic.

What do you do to remind yourself to slow down and appreciate these type of simple moments?

  1. I’m going to take your advice. I think it helps to take moments like puzzle/slowdown time to ease the mommy guilt I build up in my head, which ads to stress and the snowball effect continues. Thanks for the reminder.
